Disneyland Park: A Scream of An Adventure!
If the magic of Disney is still in the air for you but you’ve never been, make 2018 the time to make your dreams come true! Here are some top tips to get the planning started.
When to Go
With its spooky traditions laced with candy corn and ghost stories, Halloween is sure to be a real scream at Disneyland this year. In September 2017, the park launched it’s Dia de Los Muertos celebration, complete with brightly colored flowers and Mexican art in celebration of loved ones that have passed on, this spooky adventure is a must for Halloween enthusiasts.
The park also features other spooktacular themed things to including the Main St. Pumpkin festival where you can check out hundreds of hand-carved jack-o-lanterns or board the Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After-Dark ride for a thrill that’s sure to make your spine tingle!
An added bonus…this time of the year tends to be easier on the crowds, so you can enjoy the park without the hassles of high-season craziness!
While there’s never a bad time to visit the “happiest place on earth”, their high season typically begins around the end of May, with peak times being from Friday to Monday. It’s best to check the park hours closer to your time of arrival, as they are subject to change as well as your admission costs as they rise and fall as well. Your best bet is to bundle a park-pass so that you can bounce from one adventure to the next.
Where to Stay
There are plenty of resort options if you want to be super close to the park, but if you want to be out of earshot of the Disney mayhem, then check out Homewood Suites by Hilton Anaheim. Just a short 15-minute stroll to the park, you won’t mind staying until closing time to get your last thrill in. This place rates well among guests who’ve enjoyed everything from the super comfy beds, to the homemade cookies.
Top 3 Planning Tips
Tip 1 – Download the Disneyland App – from checking wait times for rides to navigating your way around the park with their GPS-enabled maps, the app has everything you need.
Tip 2 – Plan your route – before you go, you can actually take advantage of the Disney FASTPASS service which will essentially let you buy your place in line on some of the more popular attractions, which will make for less hassle, especially if you are traveling with a family.
Tip 3 – Get there early! – be an early bird and take advantage of the Extra Magic Morning or Extra Magic Hours (EMH) that allow one-hour early admission into the parks. Plan to arrive at the park at least a half hour before the extra hour begins. Trust me on this one. If you do manage to conjure some extra magic and get in early, you can take advantage of your FASTPASS for certain rides (check availability on the day), bonus!
