July – For The Lovers Of Music & Mountains
Shenandoah Valley Music Festival – From July 20th until September 2nd
Orkney Springs is the place to head to for the longest running music festival in the mid-Atlantic. The Shenandoah Valley Music Festival has been creating beautiful, music memories for over fifty years! This event will take place at The Shrine Mont Historic Retreat & Conference center. If you are planning on going to this event, stay overnight. If the Shrinemont is not in your budget, stay 10-minutes down the road from the festival at Chalet High By Kees Vacations.
August – Head To Virginia Beach For The Beer, Bourbon & BBQ Festival
On August 11th Hunt Club Farm will be home to The Beer, Bourbon & BBQ festival that has forty craft bourbons and sixty different beers on tap, along with some of the best BBQ pulled pork in the state. There are a few ticket options to choose from for this festival. The best value if you’re a bbq and bourbon or beer lover, is the VIP package that includes perks such as early admission, unlimited bourbon, and beer tastings as well as your BBQ dinner, to name just a few. This event is not catered for kids though, as there is an on-site cigar tent and nothing specifically offered to keep them entertained.

September – For The Lovers Of Wine Check Out The Neptune Wine Festival
Virginia is continually forging its undisputed reputation for impeccable wine. The 22nd annual Fall Wine Festival in Virginia Beach, will take place on September 15th and 16th this year. Taste some of the region’s finest wines from over ten vineyards, meet the vintners and see why this event never fails to disappoint.
The festival will have two of Virginia’s most popular eateries on site, The Boardroom, and Capt’n Crabby. The Boardroom caters to many a discerning palate. The popular Virginia Beach restaurant is known to be one of the best spots for both their wines as well as great food. Capt’n Crabby is likely to satisfy those who have a hankering for anything from a loaded Chesapeake Cheesesteak to their fabulous crab cake sandwiches.
If you’re not a wine lover, you can sample some of the best ciders instead. Bold Rock Hard Cider and Cobbler Mountain Cider will be on site offering samples of their famous ciders. Ticket pricing varies for this event. Early bird tickets are available till July 31st for $30. After July 31st tickets are $40 tickets up till the week of the event or until sold out. Table reservations include eight tickets and can be purchased in advance for $400 for Saturday and $350 for Sunday. Groups of twenty for the Saturday can reserve a chalet that includes twenty VIP tickets for tastings. Chalet ticket holders can also take advantage of advance entry, hors-d’oeuvres and non-alcoholic refreshments in a shaded VIP area.
